It’s not every day that two good friends launch an exciting new online venture and I’m thrilled to announce that the quirky home accessories store Phoenix & Fox is now live. Sam and Kelly resolved to open a shop together after attending Abigail Ahern’s excellent retail masterclass and in less than a year they’ve got it up and running.
It has been a lot of fun coming along the journey with them and it was particularly exciting to go to Sam’s house a couple of months ago and see boxes and boxes of exciting stuff piled high waiting to be dispatched to eager customers. I’d seen a few of the products before launch, especially the ones she’s nabbed for her own home, but it was great to see them all styled and in situ on the website. Kelly is an IT whizz and built the entire website herself can you believe that? Oh alongside with having her first baby just a few weeks ago. She’s the most determined person I know.
It’s hard to stand out in the online world and what I love about Kelly and Sam’s shop is that their personality comes through loud and clear. This is no faceless online catalogue, it’s an emporium full of passion, fun and friendship. From their ‘how to’ and behind-the-scenes videos and the styling shots taken in their own beautiful homes, this is a site where personality abounds and I know they are going to do very, very well.
As a launch promotion Kelly and Sam are offering a 10% discount on any purchases when you sign up to their newsletter. I have my eye on the following items but I think I’m going to save the postage and go and pick them up from Kelly so I can sneak in a cuddle with the beautiful baby Aria at the same time.
I love all the organic shapes and materials from the collection and all the muted, natural colours. Sam and Kelly very kindly gave me the white pineapple, knowing I have a strange love of the spiky fruit and it is now sitting resplendent in my bathroom. I was rather taken aback by the octopus candle holder, I’ve never seen anything like it in my life. It’s so unusual and a teensy bit freaky!
Please go and check out Phoenix & Fox and tell them what you think. You can also follow along the journey on their blog here.
